Dr. Charley Patton was an adjunct professor in the folk song department of the Scribian Institute for Accuracy in Music.
He is mentioned in The Unauthorized Autobiography. At one point, he was corresponding with Lemony Snicket. Dr. Patton was researching the folk song, The Little Snicket Lad which was supposedly about Mr. Snicket's childhood. Dr. Patton was attempting to determine the accuracy of the song's lyrics.
